Our Story
Our founder, Amanda Lopez, knew at a young age that she wanted to work with children in some way. Growing up in a home where her parents were foster parents for over 30 years to over 160 children greatly shaped her worldview and perspective on life. It was through this “front row seat” of the child welfare and social service systems that Amanda became interested in how and why certain families were struggling while the providers working with the families were also struggling. Having worked both inside government at the state and federal level and outside government in the private, non-profit sector, Amanda has seen the power and potential when public and private organizations come together to solve some of our communities most pressing issues related to education, health, economic development, housing, and crime. When done well, public-private partnerships can accelerate our impact and move the needle on these issues.
